The Index is a free float-adjusted market capitalization index reflecting the performance of the global developed market equity performance on a total return basis with net dividends reinvested. As of August 2006, the Index consisted of constituents out of the following 23 developed countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. The International Equity Index series, which is sponsored by MSCI BarraSM, represents companies within these countries that are available to investors worldwide, therefore provides the equity universe of eligible securities for the Index.
