SP500 Index ETF

The first ETF, Standard and Poor's Deposit Receipt (SPDR, or “spider”) was released in 1993 with purpose to track the S&P 500 Index. Comprising the largest US companies; SPDRs are worth roughly one-tenth of the index, allowing international investors to diversify their portfolio without necessarily to pay the full price of the index.
